Bernard Amyot is one of the founding partners of the firm. For more than 30 years, Bernard has developed a practice that is primarily focused on civil and commercial litigation. He has extensive experience before the Québec courts, having represented some of Canada’s leading financial institutions and corporations. He has acted as lead counsel in numerous class action matters involving multiple Canadian jurisdictions and cross-border issues. His professional liability defence work extends to lawyers, as well as stockbrokers, insurance brokers, engineers and accountants. He is also involved in many files involving shareholders’ rights. He has lectured and written frequently on legal issues of interest to his clients. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and has been recognized as a leading practitioner in the area of corporate and commercial litigation by The Best Lawyers in Canada and by The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory. In 2007, he served as National President of the Canadian Bar Association. He also served as President of the American Counsel Association and is currently a member of Council of the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association.
