Sandra Gogal has been nationally recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in Canada, Chambers Global for Aboriginal and environmental law and mining. She is the co-lead of Miller Thomson’s Aboriginal Law Group and lead of the firms Cannabis Industry Group. She provides legal and strategic advice to industry in respect of project development in the mining, hydro, nuclear and pipeline sectors with a specialization in Aboriginal and environmental. She has negotiated numerous agreements with First Nations and Metis, including settlements for past developments in excess of $100 million and impact and benefit agreements. She directs and Chairs the Osgood Certificate Program in Aboriginal Law and is frequently sought to speak internationally. Sandra is also the lead of Miller Thomson’s Cannabis Industry Group acting for licensed producers and other entrepreneurs wishing to enter the cannabis industry in Canada. She advises clients and prospective businesses with respect to regulatory and licensing requirements for the cultivation, sale and distribution of medical and recreational cannabis in Canada, with a view to emerging markets in product development and retail both in Canada and abroad.
