Senior employment litigation and labour relations lawyer with a wide range of experience including numerous appearances before the Courts in many notable decisions in employment law. Carman has advised employers in most industries and sectors of the economy. Carman is a frequent lecturer on a wide range of employment and labour relations subjects for various organizations including the Chartered Professional in Human Resources, Chartered Professional Accountants, the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists, the Sauder School of Business, the Canadian Bar Association and the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC. Carman is the Past President of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch). He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2002. His work to establish Pro Bono Law of BC was recognized by the Canadian Bar Association in 2007 when he was presented with the Harry Rankin, QC Pro Bono Award. Carman was also recognized by Queen's University in 2012 when he was presented with the Kathleen Beaumont Hill Award for his contributions to Queen's University and our community generally.
