Emily is a partner with the firm. She has a diverse litigation practice, with an emphasis on civil litigation and public and administrative law, and provides pragmatic, client-focused advice and strategies to individuals, institutions, and corporate clients. She acts for clients in civil and commercial disputes, employment and pension litigation, privacy matters, and administrative law proceedings. She maintains an active hearing practice with expertise in administrative and civil proceedings both as a prosecutor and defence counsel before regulatory tribunals and the civil courts. Emily has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and at the SCC. Emily is the co-author of Administrative Law in Practice: Principles and Advocacy (with now Justice Lorne Sossin). She has taught Administrative Law as an Adjunct Professor and presents regularly on administrative law, professional regulation, and litigation skills development. Emily is actively involved in mentoring and has sat for four years on the Young Advocates’ Standing Committee of The Advocates’ Society. She is on the executive of the 10+ Committee of The Advocates’ Society for mid-career lawyers and sits on the Osgoode Hall Alumni Association. Within the firm, Emily is the head of the firm’s student program.
