Michael Swartz is a partner at WeirFoulds who has devoted his entire practice exclusively to the area of construction law. He represents clients from across the construction industry from inception to completion of a project, including owners, developers, architects, contractors, trades and suppliers, in all aspects of their projects and construction-related issues. Michael is experienced in structuring complex tendering and contract documents related to development and his practice involves dealing with a wide-range of litigation issues that arise from procurement and contract disputes to breach of contract, lien, trust, bond and delay claims. Michael also dedicates a significant amount of time to speaking and writing articles on topics related to construction law and the construction industry and has been proudly teaching construction law courses since 2006. In 2017, Michael was selected by the Toronto Construction Association (TCA) Nominations & Awards Committee as the winner of the 2016 TCIC Chancellor’s Award of Excellence for being “the recipient [who] takes time away from their busy schedule to give back to the industry they serve so faithfully and goes above and beyond to help peers become more ethical, more knowledgeable and more professional industry practitioners”.
