Pape Chaudhury LLP is a Toronto based litigation boutique carrying on a varied civil litigation practice in a wide range of practice areas, including appellate advocacy, commercial litigation, negligence/torts, professional liability, class actions, and public law. The firm generally handles complicated or difficult matters, many of which are referred by other law firms. We have significant experience working with other lawyers whose clients need litigation counsel. We have argued over 150 appeals on behalf of both appellants and respondents. Paul Pape: Paul has over 45 years of experience as both trial and appellate counsel and has acted in many cases of significance. Paul’s litigation practice focuses on complex commercial, securities, class action, professional negligence, and administrative matters, with special emphasis on appeals in these and other areas. Paul is a senior and leading member of the Ontario Bar. Shantona Chaudhury: Shantona has a broad civil, commercial, and public law practice, with particular expertise in appeals. Her practice includes commercial litigation, class actions, negligence, professional discipline, professional negligence, administrative, and constitutional law. She represents individuals, institutions, and businesses at all levels of court and administrative tribunals. She has been counsel in over 35 cases at the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Divisional Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Chambers Canada notes that: “Shantona Chaudhury attracts plaudits from commentators as ‘one of the best young civil appellate advocates in Canada’.” (2020); “Her performance earns her respect, as sources note that ‘the judges rave about her’.” (2019); “Peers describe her as an ‘outstanding’ litigator and a ‘force to be reckoned with’.” (2018); “One peer noted: ‘She is fantastic. She is a former law clerk to Justice Binnie. Shantona is called to the Bar in Ontario and Québec and is fluently bilingual (English/French).

Cristina Senese: Cristina maintains a broad civil and commercial litigation practice, with an emphasis on appeals. Cristina brings a high-level of creativity, organization and efficiency to her files that has led to success at all levels of Court in Ontario, including the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Her experience includes complex commercial disputes, class proceedings, professional liability, civil procedure, negligence, and administrative law. Cristina joined Pape Chaudhury in 2018 after working at a prominent full-service Bay Street law firm where she ran the full gamut of practice areas. Cristina brings this diverse experience to her work at Pape Chaudhury.

Brodie Noga: Brodie maintains a general practice in civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on appeals. He has made multiple appearances before the Court of Appeal. Before joining Pape Chaudhury, Brodie clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada for the Honourable Justice Clément Gascon. He obtained his law degree at McGill University where he received numerous academic distinctions including the Aimé Geoffrion Gold Medal. He was called to Bar in 2018.
