Andrew W. MacDonald

Andrew MacDonald is a Partner at WeirFoulds LLP whose civil litigation and advisory practice includes extensive experience in media and defamation law. He acts for and advises leading news media outlets and journalists, including in defamation actions and anti-SLAPP motions, providing pre-publication/broadcast advice, challenging restrictions on public access to court and tribunal proceedings, and assisting with access-to-information requests. Andrew also has experience in privacy and copyright-related matters and disputes. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as a variety of administrative tribunals and inquiries.
