Antony Cortese

Antony Cortese is a Partner in DLA Piper‘s Vancouver office. He practises corporate and commercial law, with a focus (and significant experience advising) on private company mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, structuring of businesses and joint ventures, and corporate governance. Specifically, Antony regularly assists clients with preparation and negotiation of complex commercial arrangements, and counselling buy/sell transactions from the term sheet stage through to close. Antony also has extensive experience structuring and re-structuring business ventures, including through the use of unincorporated joint ventures, corporations, and partnerships. Antony works with clients operating in a wide range of industries, such as forestry (including major tenure holders and contractors), energy, mining, construction, technology, finance, food services, and insurance. He also acts for Indigenous owned companies and economic development corporations and partnerships. He has extensive experience assisting Indigenous majority or wholly owned entities form business ventures of all kinds, negotiate revenue sharing and capacity building arrangements, navigate governance issues, and complete the purchase and sale of businesses.
