Asif Lasani is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office. His practice focuses on construction law and disputes, complex commercial litigation and administrative tribunal counsel and advocacy. He acts for public and private sector clients on construction and infrastructure matters, representing school boards, universities, developers, general contractors and other project participants, on projects and in disputes involving procurement, contract administration, delay and deficiency, breach of trust, and other construction-related issues. In addition to his construction practice, Asif represents a broad range of public and private sector clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, negligence, shareholder disputes, commercial tenancy and property disputes, and expropriations. He also frequently serves as tribunal counsel and advises institutions on administrative tribunal structures, procedures, and best practices. Asif is actively engaged in proceedings before the Superior Court of Justice, adjudications under the Construction Act, and a range of tribunals and other adjudicative bodies governed by the Statutory Powers Procedure Act.
