Barry Weintraub practises commercial, environmental and employment litigation at Toronto litigation boutique Weintraub Erskine Huang LLP. He has more than 30 years' extensive trial and appellate experience. His commercial litigation cases involve banking, shareholder oppression, contract disputes and construction matters. Barry's environmental law cases include civil litigation, director & officer liability, prosecution defence and administrative appeals. Barry has acted for several Ontario government ministries, municipalities and businesses in all types of spill litigation and has acted in many leading director & and officer liability cases in insolvency contexts, including the Northstar Aerospace (Baker v. Director) and Huron Concrete cases (Gaffney v. Director). His employment law cases include all types of employment matters and workplace investigations of fraud, conflict, discrimination and harassment. Barry previously practised with Stikeman Elliott, Genest Murray, Heenan Blaikie and Rueters LLP. He was Chair of CBA National Environmental, Energy and Resources Law and OBA Civil Litigation and Environmental Law Sections. He writes and speaks frequently on commercial and environmental litigation issues and was Adjunct Professor at University of Toronto Law for many years.
