Certified as a Specialist in Labour Law by the Law Society of Ontario since 1998. Over 30 years’ experience representing employers in labour matters, including federal and provincial Crown corporations, utilities, municipalities, hospitals, railways, as well as private sector clients, including in manufacturing, transportation, information technology and business services. Provides practical and strategic advice to public and private sector employers on collective agreements and other labour relations issues. Regularly acts as chief spokesperson for employers in collective bargaining negotiations. Known for exceptional advocacy. Has appeared as counsel in hundreds of arbitrations and administrative and court proceedings at both the federal and provincial levels. Former Associate Editor of the Canadian Labour Relations Board Reports and contributing author from 2007 to 2018 to the annual Canada Labour Code: Quick Reference Guide. Throughout his career, has provided pro bono legal services to various Toronto organizations involved in supporting persons living with HIV/AIDS, including Toronto People with AIDS Foundation, CATIE, and the HIV Legal Network.
