Christiane Brizard focuses her practice on governance, ethics and professional law. She has in-depth knowledge of the professional system, having practised professional law for more than 40 years. This expertise has led to her being given major mandates by professional orders. She frequently acts as legal and strategic counsel to boards of directors, special committees and senior management members of professional orders and similar bodies in respect of all their duties and responsibilities. She has thereby acquired wide-ranging expertise related to representing clients before specialized bodies, departmental authorities and parliamentary commissions. For over 20 years, she was secretary, vice-president of legal affairs and strategic advisor for the Ordre des comptables agréés and the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés. She played a key role in unifying accounting professions. She holds a postgraduate degree in Applied Ethics and often speaks at conferences on governance and ethics, in addition to having helped draft a number of articles on these subjects.
