Christine has a diverse commercial law practice with an emphasis on technology, franchising and retail. The technology aspect of Christine’s practice is comprised of advising technology suppliers and customers on various commercial and contractual issues, including software-as-a-service agreements, service-provider arrangements, financial technology arrangements, data agreements, outsourcing arrangements, software licensing, consumer protection and financial regulatory issues. Christine’s technology practice has a particular focus on advising fintech companies on contracting issues opposite financial institutions. In the franchising industry, Christine provides Canadian and international franchisors with business practical advice on all aspects of Canadian franchise law, including the preparation of franchise agreements and disclosure documents, acquisitions and dispositions of single unit franchises and franchise systems as a whole, managing franchisee relationships and expanding operations to Canada. Christine also has a particular expertise in franchise bankruptcy and insolvency issues.
