Christopher is a Partner at Sequoia Legal LLP whose practice focuses on Aboriginal and Treaty law for First Nations, tribal councils, Métis organizations, and other Indigenous communities across Canada. He works as a litigator, negotiator, and strategic advisor, supporting Nations in advancing their rights, protecting territories, and pursuing long term community goals. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Courts, the Specific Claims Tribunal, and the superior courts of BC, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories. As a negotiator, Christopher has led specific claim settlements, consultation agreements, and impact benefit agreements across forestry, mining, oil and gas, and major infrastructure. He also advises on using Aboriginal and Treaty rights to protect cultural practices, steward lands and waters, and ensure development benefits communities. He supports Nations with economic and corporate development, including land and business acquisitions, infrastructure projects, trust structuring, and governance for Indigenous owned entities. Christopher is recognized by Lexpert and Best Lawyers, is a former Chair of the CBA National Aboriginal Law Section, and serves on the Specific Claims Tribunal Advisory Committee.
