Colin Pendrith is a partner and co-chair of the Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Group at Cassels. As a member of the Franchise Law Group, Colin regularly acts for franchisors in all manners of franchise disputes, including the termination of franchise agreements, enforcement of non-competition covenants and protection of intellectual property. Colin speaks and writes on franchise law issues and is a co-author of Covenants Against Competition in Franchise Agreements, 4th Edition. Colin’s broader commercial litigation practice focuses on corporate defamation and brand protection, fraud protection and prosecution, shareholder disputes, and claims against directors and officers. Colin takes a pragmatic approach to dispute resolution, using the courts and alternative dispute resolution strategies, including mediation and arbitration, to achieve positive results for clients. Colin has litigated successfully at all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and Alberta Court of King’s Bench. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2011.
