Daniel Boivin is a litigator in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. Daniel's practice focuses on health law and medical defence, including acting as counsel to the Canadian Medical Protective Association. He also provides advice in commercial litigation matters and constitutional linguistic issues. He has represented clients in a broad range of circumstances and has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and the SCC. He also advises on a variety of health policy issues. Daniel is a part-time professor, teaching evidence law and trial advocacy at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. He also lectures on evidence law and advocacy skills with various organizations. Daniel is very active in the promotion of access to justice. He is the president of Fédération des association de juristes d’expression française and past president of the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario. He has been recognized in both The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory and The Best Lawyers in Canada. He is active in the community in a variety of roles in sports and cultural organizations, for instance as a member of the board of the Fédération Québécoise de ski alpin.
