David Camp is senior counsel in the BLG Vancouver office. He practises Indigenous law, with a background in corporate, environmental, and real estate law. David advises resource companies, Crown ministries, Crown corporations, developers, financial institutions, utilities, and railway and pipeline companies on environmental approvals, impact benefit agreements, treaty issues, rights of way, and consultation issues involving projects within traditional territories. He also advises on leasing and development issues on reserve lands. In addition, David has advised clients on Indigenous issues relating to major LNG projects, port expansions, hydro-electric projects, transmission and distribution facilities, mining, pipeline, and oil and gas projects, and residential developments on reserve land and in traditional territories. On August 31, 2018, the Government of Canada indirectly acquired the Trans Mountain Pipeline system and the Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP), through Trans Mountain Corp. (a subsidiary of the Canada Development Investment Corp. (CDEV)) from a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan Canada Ltd. (KML) for cash consideration of $4.5 billion.
