David is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s Business Law Group in Toronto, where his practice is focused on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and fund formation. David also regularly advises clients on public and private securities offerings, corporate governance, and general corporate matters. David has extensive experience advising large and mid-size clients in the financial services and private equity industries, as well as in the agrifood sector. David regularly teaches on matter relating to corporate governance, including duties and obligations of corporate directors, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Before rejoining McCarthy Tétrault in 2022, David served as senior in-house counsel at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), providing legal and strategic guidance on global M&A, private equity investments, and other strategic transactions.
