David McCarthy is a partner and serves on the firm’s Partnership Board. He practises in the corporate and commercial areas, with an emphasis on mergers & acquisitions. He has been involved in acquisitions and dispositions, corporate reorganizations, preparation and negotiation of agreements for the sale of goods and services, shareholder matters and other commercial contracts, both in Canada and internationally. David also has extensive experience advising companies, their boards of directors and shareholders with corporate governance matters. David works with domestic and multinational corporations engaged in food processing, financial services, transportation, manufacturing and distribution. More recently, he has acted for companies involved with retailing, gaming, internet-related activities, mining and waste collection, and has assisted clients with entertainment and sports law matters. David previously served on the Management Committee (2002–2008), he was Head of the Corporate Department in the Toronto office (2003–2014) and he was Head of the Toronto office Finance Committee (2014–2016). David is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. David is on the board of directors for Golf Canada and sits on the GC Audit & Risk and Professional Championships committees.
On December 1, 2017, Canopy Growth Corp. (Canopy Growth), Green House Holdings North America Inc.
