Debra is a Litigation Partner in the Regulatory Group at WeirFoulds LLP, recognized for her leadership and expertise in professional regulation and complex litigation. A seasoned advocate, Debra has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada, and numerous tribunals. Debra has acted as a prosecutor and independent legal counsel on a broad range of discipline matters, including sexual abuse, fraud, breach of human rights, and “off-duty” conduct. Beyond professional regulation, she represents public authorities in complex disputes, including commercial litigation and Aboriginal land claims. Consistently ranked by leading legal directories, Debra contributes through speaking engagements, teaching, and mentorship. Prior to attending law school, Debra worked as a law clerk assisting on a number of notable cases, including as commission staff for Justice Stephen Goudge on the Inquiry into Pediatric Forensic Pathology in Ontario and as part of the legal team representing the Ontario Provincial Police Association and its members at the Ipperwash Inquiry.
