Deirdre Sheehan is co-Chair of Bennett Jones' Aboriginal Law practice group and a member of the firm's Power and Renewables Industry Team. Deirdre has over 15 years of experience in providing strategic advice to clients on federal and provincial regulatory matters with an emphasis on energy and utility facility developments and rates and tariff issues. Her experience includes advising clients on a variety of complex utility regulation matters, jurisdictional issues, Aboriginal law matters, energy imports and export, and facility approvals for power transmission lines, renewable and hydro generation, gas storage, conventional oil and gas wells, pipelines, oil sands developments, upgraders, and other energy developments. She has represented clients before various regulatory tribunals and agencies, including the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Canadian Energy Regulator, the Alberta Environmental Appeals Board, the British Columbia Utilities Commission, the Yukon Utilities Board, and others. Deirdre was called to the Alberta Bar in 2002 after clerking at the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench and Court of Appeal, and concluding her articles with Bennett Jones LLP.
