Dominic Bédard-Lapointe is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s National Tax Group. His practice focuses on tax-related disputes specific to large corporations, notably those resulting from complex reorganizations, and the application of the general anti-avoidance rule. With prior experience at the Department of Justice and in tax planning, Dominic offers a unique perspective that enables him to anticipate challenges and craft efficient, results-oriented litigation strategies. His experience spans precedent-setting cases and significant matters before Canadian courts and tax authorities. Dominic is actively involved in the tax community. In addition to teaching in the Master’s in taxation program at HEC Montréal, he regularly speaks in conferences across North America and publishes on a range of taxation topics. Dominic was called to the Quebec Bar in 2011 and holds law degrees from HEC Montréal (LLM, Taxation, 2011) and Université Laval (LLB, 2008).
