Douglas Harrison, FCIArb, is a independent commercial arbitrator with Arbitration Place in Toronto. Recent appointments include both international and domestic disputes in the automotive, consumer products, energy, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, public infrastructure and real estate sectors, under ad hoc rules as well as the AAA, ADRIC, ICC, ICDR, ICDR Canada and SCC rules. He is a member of CPR’s Panel of Distinguished Neutrals and of several arbitration rosters, including the Canadian Transportation Agency and the Scottish Arbitration Centre. He is the Chair of the Toronto Commercial Arbitration Society and Director of its Gold Standard Course in Commercial Arbitration. He is also a member of the organizing committee of CanArbWeek and is a Co-Chair of the University of Toronto Tribunal. For over 30 years, Mr. Harrison was with Stikeman Elliott LLP conducting a broad corporate-commercial litigation and arbitration practice.
