Douglas Harrison, FCIArb, is an international and domestic commercial arbitrator and mediator with Arbitration Place in Toronto. He also acts as legal counsel in select matters. Recent arbitral appointments include disputes in the automotive, construction, energy, financial services and pharmaceutical sectors, under ad hoc rules as well as the rules of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and ICDR Canada. Recent mediations include defamation, environmental, insurance and product liability claims. He is a member of CPR’s Panel of Distinguished Neutrals and is on the arbitration rosters of ICDR Canada and ICC Canada, among others. He is a Co-Chair of the University of Toronto Tribunal. He is the Chair of the Toronto Commercial Arbitration Society and Director of its Gold Standard Course in Commercial Arbitration. He is also a member of the executive of the ICC Canada Arbitration Committee. For over 30 years, Mr. Harrison was with Stikeman Elliott LLP conducting a broad corporate-commercial litigation and arbitration practice.
