Eric J. Dufour

Eric is a partner in our Toronto office and the Leader of the Competition/Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group. With over 25 years of experience, clients trust Eric with their most strategic and critical competition, foreign investment and national security matters. Eric has successfully obtained clearances under the Competition Act for hundreds of domestic, cross-border and international transactions. He also provides strategic advice to firms facing criminal and reviewable issues, including cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, and related litigation. In respect to his foreign investment review practice, Eric has successfully navigated the Investment Canada Act’s complex reviews and its national security review process on behalf of numerous foreign investors, including several state-owned enterprises. Prior to joining Miller Thomson, he worked in another leading competition law group in Toronto and has also worked in the Mergers Branch of the Competition Bureau. Eric actively engages in legal associations and has been recognized in prestigious publications for his exceptional work in competition law and advertising and marketing law.
