Erica is a partner in the National Tax Group in Calgary, where she maintains a general tax planning practice. She is a frequent speaker on a wide range of tax-related topics and has published numerous papers for various publications and conferences. Erica received the Canadian Tax Foundation’s “Best Newsletter Article by a Young Practitioner Award” for her 2021 article, “Do You Have Trust Issues? The Potential Application of Part VI.1 and Subsection 104(2) in Estate Freezes”. She is also an active member of the Calgary community, having served as a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, coached the University of Calgary Donald G. Bowman National Tax Moot Team, and sits on the board of Vertigo Theatre. Erica earned her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) from Dalhousie University, where she received numerous academic honours, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2015. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation, and the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society.
