Gord acts for individuals and businesses in all manner of civil and commercial litigation. His areas of practice include insurance coverage disputes, professional negligence claims, defamation, employment law, real estate litigation and shareholder disputes. Gord has appeared as lead or co-counsel in more than 50 reported decisions in the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal, and has conducted several multi-week trials in Superior Court. Gord graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 2009 as the Gold Medalist of his class and was the recipient of numerous academic awards and distinctions. After completing his articles Gord was selected as one of two Ontario lawyers to receive the Fox Scholarship, through which he spent a year working alongside barristers in London, England. Gord is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Ontario where he teaches Insurance Law and is a contributing author for Lexis Practice Advisor Canada on the subject of Insurance Broker’s Professional Liability. His views are frequently published in the popular press, including the Globe & Mail, National Post and Toronto Star. In 2021, Gord was selected as a Lexpert Rising Star.
