Heba Al-Shakarchi

Heba Al-Shakarchi is counsel in McCarthy Tétrault’s Financial Services Group in Toronto. Her practice focuses on lending and secured financing, with particular attention to project finance and the power and infrastructure sectors. Heba is a skilled lawyer with experience representing a number of clients on a variety of domestic and international financing transactions. She has advised Canadian and foreign financial institutions, sponsors and project companies. Her recent transactions include acting for a lender syndicate in connection with its $180+ million financing of a joint venture development of three E-LT1 battery storage projects in Ontario and acting for Canada Infrastructure Bank in connection with the financing of the Oneida battery storage project (among the largest in the world) in Ontario. Heba regularly shares her professional experience by discussing lending and market trends on a variety of panels. She is also on the board of Toronto’s Banking Together, an industry initiative supporting those identifying as women or non-binary in commercial financial services. She was called to the England and Wales Bar in 2012 and the Ontario Bar in 2017.
