Jacob Stone is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s Business Law group in the Quebec Region. His practice focuses on project finance, M&A, private placements, and venture capital. Jacob acts for developers, lenders, borrowers, bondholders and investors for the development and financing of infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Canada, as well as on construction, operation, and supply matters for major renewable energy projects. Jacob was involved in a number of significant mandates, such as representing The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company and Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada in the closing of a secured credit facility to First Nation LP in order to finance its equity interest in Wataynikaneyap Power LP and representing SOFIAC in connection with its debt financing from the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) and Fiera Private Debt. He is the co-editor of McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s annual publication Power Perspectives 2023 and frequently contributes to the firm’s Canadian Energy Perspectives blog. He is called to the Bar in both Ontario and Quebec.
