He has been lead counsel in a number of landmark cases, including representing Google in a Reference Application concerning whether there is a “right to be forgotten” in Canada, representing South African–born Olympic champion Caster Semenya (and before her, Dutee Chand) in arbitration proceedings to strike down discriminatory regulations, and representing wind farm developers successfully defending a constitutional challenge to Ontario’s issuance of a renewable energy licence.
