James O’Sullivan is a partner and the department lead in our Corporate Securities group. Based in Calgary, James’ current practice focuses on providing corporate, securities and commercial advice to private and junior public issuers, as well as advising micro-cap, start-up and growth companies active in the energy, mining, healthcare, consumer products and technology markets. He also serves as Corporate Secretary for several Canadian public companies. James' diverse client experiences make him ideally suited to advise high-potential and revenue generating private companies, as well as junior public issuers that require an active, focused and engaged counsel available to provide day-to-day routine advice, as well as quarterback complex commercial and securities transactions. James actively operates as a team member in his clients' businesses, providing "general counsel" style guidance with respect to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, compensation, commercial and other legal matters. He has extensive experience in corporate financings for both private and public companies, and has managed numerous multi-step mergers and acquisitions, as well as complex corporate reorganizations and commercial transactions.
