Jean-Simon Schoenholz is a versatile litigator with a bilingual national practice focusing on public strategy, appellate advocacy, and commercial litigation. He regularly appears before the federal courts and Supreme Court of Canada, in superior and appellate courts across Canada, at all levels in Ontario and in high-stakes litigation in other provinces, including Quebec. Jean-Simon is regularly engaged by clients affected by government and government agency decisions, and by public institutions whose decisions are challenged. He supports clients engaged in government consultations, develops draft legislation, and proposes responses to new or anticipated statutory or regulatory changes. Jean-Simon is regularly called upon to advise clients on complex regulatory schemes and constitutional issues and routinely advises Crown corporations on governance matters relating to the Financial Administration Act. He has unique experience participating in high-profile public inquiries and leads an active official languages practice. Jean-Simon is Norton Rose Fulbright’s Supreme Court of Canada Agent and long-time chair of the Canadian Bar Association's Supreme Court Liaison Subcommittee. He regularly volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario's Supreme Court Leave Application Assistance Program.
