Counsel on a number of significant cases involving patent validity and infringement, damages and profits quantification and recovery under Section 8 of the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. Regularly appears as counsel before the Federal Court and Superior Court, including at the appellate level. Frequent speaker on IP related matters, including for the Canadian Judicial Council/National Judicial Institute. Lecturer at the LLM Health Law IP course at Osgoode Hall Law School and on IP matters at other academic institutions. Recognized as a leading Intellectual Property lawyer by The Best Lawyers in Canada. Clerked at the Court of Appeal of Alberta after being awarded the Gold Medal at law school. Completed his articling at Goodmans and joined the firm as an associate in 2002.
