Jocelyn Perreault is a partner at McCarthy Tétrault and a member of its Montréal Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group. His practice consists of advising clients on insolvency or potential insolvency matters, and representing them in informal workouts, formal restructurings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act or the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, receiverships, bankruptcies, or litigation matters involving insolvency questions. He has represented various parties in such matters: debtor companies, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, creditor groups, monitors, trustees, receivers, purchasers, and investors. He has appeared in front of first instance and appellate courts in Québec and other Canadian provinces, as well as in France as part of a French insolvency proceeding involving a Canadian client. He has also been involved in special mandates for the World Bank consisting of the review of insolvency and creditors’ rights regimes in foreign jurisdictions. He has been a course lecturer at the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University since 2002. He is also a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) and a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. Called to the Québec Bar in 2007.
