John Margie is certified as a Specialist in Construction Law by the Law Society of Ontario and is a Fellow and Governor of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. John has represented every party in the construction pyramid and represents clients from across the construction industry. His experience ranges across a wide variety of projects from luxury home construction to condominiums, industrial and commercial projects, and infrastructure projects. John has extensive expertise in complex multiparty construction disputes and extensive experience in all various types of construction claims conducted in the courts and in domestic and international arbitrations. John also has extensive expertise in the application and interpretation of the Construction Act and is the co-author of the Simplified Guide to Modernization of the Construction Lien Act. John is also a guest lecturer at Osgoode’s LLM program and a frequent writer and industry speaker on various construction topics, and since September 2019, John has been teaching construction law as an adjunct professor at Western Law.
