Jonathan Goode is a partner at Torkin Manes, practising exclusively in the area of construction law on behalf of general contractors, public and private owners, sureties, subcontractors, suppliers, financial institutions, and design professionals. His practice focuses on construction claims, defences, and surety bond work, employing alternative dispute resolution and advocacy at trial and appellate levels. His practice also includes all aspects of construction document drafting including the preparation, review, and analysis of general contracts, trade contracts, architectural and engineering services contracts, subcontracts, supply, transportation, manufacturing, and cannabis facility contracts. He regularly drafts custom and standard form construction contracts (including all forms of CCDC, OAA, and CCA contracts and subcontracts) and advises clients on their contractual obligations, risk management, and contract administration. He has extensive experience representing contractors and home owners in residential construction disputes and in drafting contract documents for use on residential projects. He represents parties in respect of proceedings under the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act (Tarion) at the License Appeal Tribunal and in negotiating new home warranty claims.
