Josh is a partner at Margie Strub Construction Law LLP, a firm that he started in September 2020 with his partner John Margie. Josh’s practice includes front-end construction contracting, course-of-project advice, and dispute resolution. While Josh’s practice spans the across numerous industries, he has a particular focus on complex transit projects. Prior to co-founding Margie Strub Construction Law, Josh managed the nation-wide legal affairs for Canada’s largest full-service track and signal construction and maintenance provider. There he focused on the pursuit, execution, and claim phases of some of Canada’s highest-profile transit infrastructure projects. Josh also gained an acute understanding of the structure, principles, value, and potential pitfalls of collaborative contracting gained from his involvement in Canada’s first transit alliance contract. Since that experience, Josh writes and speaks regularly about the benefits of collaborative contracting in complex projects. Josh co-founded and teaches the Construction Law course at Western Law and has been recognized by Lexpert as a Rising Star, and most recently, has been recognized by Best Lawyers for his work in construction law and by Benchmark Litigation as a Future Star.
