Julie Uzan-Naulin is a partner in our Montréal office and a member of the firm’s Privacy and Cybersecurity group. She holds a Doctorate in Law and is a member of the Bar in both Paris and Montréal. Julie has gained extensive experience in the GDPR and privacy law in Canada, including issues related to the use of artificial intelligence. She advises organizations of all sizes on these issues and leverages her in-depth understanding of the legal challenges that clients face to help them align their business activities and objectives with current standards. She advises businesses of all types with regard to their privacy compliance programs, contracts and business transactions. For example, she regularly advises clients to ensure that their business practices and projects comply with European and Canadian privacy laws, particularly the GDPR, e-Privacy Directive and related EU regulations such as the AI Act and DORA, as well as Québec’s Law 25 and recent legislation on health-related personal information under Bill 5. She also advises clients on specific issues such as the use of data for marketing and advertising purposes, as well as anonymization and pseudonymization, contracts, and data transfers.
