Justin’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, including shareholder and partnership matters, investment loss and fraud recovery, insolvency-related litigation, and executive employment disputes. He has litigated significant matters at the trial and appellate levels on a wide range of issues in Canadian business law, including director and officer liability, fiduciary duties, oppression, restrictive covenants, and fraudulent conveyances. He is frequently retained at the outset of complex disputes in connection with emergency injunctions and other extraordinary pre-trial remedies, including experience acting as the court-appointed independent supervising solicitor in Anton Piller matters (civil search warrants). He also maintains a regulatory defence practice, representing regulated professionals in investigations and enforcement proceedings before financial market regulators and professional colleges. Justin regularly contributes to trial advocacy education and is a frequent speaker on civil litigation and legal professional issues. He currently serves as Secretary of the Canadian Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Section.
