Kate is a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group and Co-Leader of the Class Actions Group. Her commercial litigation practice includes corporate, securities, competition, banking, insurance defence, telecommunications, professional liability and privacy disputes. Kate has acted as lead counsel before all levels of court in Ontario and has represented clients before courts in Alberta and British Columbia, numerous administrative boards, tribunals and the Supreme Court of Canada. She has significant class action defence and arbitration experience representing both domestic and multinational clients. Kate’s product liability practice includes the defence of class proceedings and individual actions on behalf of clients in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. She also provides regulatory advice to businesses involved in the manufacturing, importation, supply and sale of food and consumer products, including in matters of regulatory compliance, product claims, labelling, ESG risk and best practices, product recalls and risk management. Kate is recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada in the fields of Health Care Law and Director & Officer Liability Practice.
