With over 35 years of specialized Family Law experience, Katherine is recognized as a fierce advocate and advisor in all areas of family law. After conquering Big Law for 3 decades, including serving six years Ottawa's managing partner in Canada’s largest law firm, Katherine founded Cooligan Yehia LLP, a Family and Estates Law Boutique serving Ottawa and Toronto. Katherine’s has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 2010, and 2012 Family Law Lawyer of the Year. She received the Businesswoman of the Year Award, was inducted into the Common Law Honour Society, the most prestigious alumni distinction presented by the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, Common Law Section. As a committed supporter of her community, Katherine has received the Order of Ottawa, Order of the Good Bear from the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the highest honour the hospital can bestow in thanks for longstanding and significant volunteer contributions, 2025 Mental Health Advocate Award by the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, the Spark Ignite Award by United Way Ottawa. She serves on the Royal Mental Health Center Foundation Board, is Chair of Women for Mental Health.
