Kathleen is a partner in the BLG Ottawa office. She specializes in trademark and copyright prosecution and enforcement and IP transactions including IP licensing and commercialization. She assists clients with the development, administration, and protection of intellectual property rights with an emphasis on trademarks and copyright, and has assisted with various types of agreements and negotiations, including in relation to licenses, development and co-development, technology, parma-related agreements, marketing, and other commercial matters of interest to companies with important intellectual property assets. Kathleen obtained a BA from McGill University and an LLB and LLL from University of Ottawa, and holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Licensing from Osgoode (2020). She is also a member of a number of associations including the International Trademark Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association (Chair, Trademark Treaties and International Law Committee and Past Chair of IP Practice in Europe Committee), Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, Licensing Executives Society, and Marques. Kathleen has been a member of BLG’s Partnership Board since 2017. Prior to joining BLG, Kathleen practised as in-house counsel in a large telecommunications company.
