Kathleen is a bilingual partner in the BLG Ottawa office. She specializes in the development, administration, and protection of intellectual property rights with an emphasis on trademarks and copyright, and regularly supports clients with various types of agreements and negotiations involving intellectual property rights, including licenses, development agreements, technology agreements, agreements relating to pharmaceuticals, and other commercial matters of interest to companies with important intellectual property assets. Kathleen obtained a BA from McGill University and an LLB and LLL from University of Ottawa, and holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Licensing from Osgoode (2020). She is also a member of a number of associations including the INTA, AIPLA (Past Chair, Trademark Treaties and International Law Committee and Past Chair of IP Practice in Europe Committee), IPIC, and Marques. Kathleen has been a member of BLG’s Partnership Board since 2017. Prior to joining BLG, Kathleen practised as in-house counsel in a large telecommunications company.
