As a partner in Torkin Manes' Litigation Group and Co-Chair of our Construction Law Group, Kayla is a trusted advisor to construction industry clients, advising them at all stages of a project, including drafting and negotiating contracts, guiding them as issues arise, and acting as litigation counsel. In her litigation practice, Kayla's strategic advocacy approach, coupled with her proficiency in navigating the construction sector landscape, provides a holistic and pragmatic approach from which her clients benefit. Her clients, including general contractors, subcontractors, sureties, suppliers, architects, engineers, and public and private owners, including municipalities, rely on Kayla’s skilled counsel and expertise to generate favourable results on a broad scope of construction-related litigation matters, always prioritizing her clients’ best interests. She has considerable experience with the Construction Act and with acting for clients on complex litigation matters, including regular appearances before Judges and Associate Judges of the Superior Court of Justice, Construction Lien Associate Judges and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Complementing her practice, Kayla was elected to serve on the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction and Infrastructure Law Executive (2018–2021).
