Kelly VanBuskirk, KC, PhD, CArb, is the founder and principal of VanBuskirk Law, a workplace and administrative law firm serving clients across Atlantic Canada. He holds an LLB from the University of New Brunswick, an LLM in Employment Law from the University of Huddersfield, and a PhD in Employment Law from Nottingham Trent University, along with additional certifications in employment mediation, restorative justice, and university teaching. Appointed King’s Counsel in 2015 and designated a Chartered Arbitrator in 2014, Kelly is also a certified Workplace Investigator and the recipient of several professional awards, including the Canadian Bar Association’s E. Neil McKelvey Award for Pro Bono Service. He has taught Employment Law, Trial Practice, Strategic Negotiations, Administrative Law, Labour Law, and Human Resource Management at the University of New Brunswick’s Faculties of Law and Business and is an active researcher whose work on workplace conflict resolution, employment law damages, and the psychology–law interface has been published in leading academic journals.
