Kinji has a general commercial and business litigation practice with a diverse mixture of practice areas and a broad range of experience and hands-on trial experience. Kinji’s primary practice areas include complex commercial and civil litigation such as contractual disputes, environmental remediation claims, product liability claims, shareholder and transactional disputes, and business torts. In recent years Kinji's practice has focused on environmental remediation cost-recovery claims and contaminated-site litigation. He regularly appears as lead counsel in the BC Supreme Court, has appeared as lead counsel in the BC Court of Appeal, and has appeared before several administrative tribunals, including the BC Securities Commission and Property Assessment Appeal Board. Kinji has also been involved in seeking leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada and has appeared as lead counsel in the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench. Kinji has been recognized by The Best Lawyersin Canada for corporate and commercial litigation, and environmental law; by Chambers Canada for environmental law; and by Benchmark Canada for general commercial litigation and energy and natural resource litigation. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2000.
