Russ is a partner in the insurance group at Blaney McMurtry LLP, with a practice focused on insurance defence and commercial litigation matters. He has extensive experience in a wide range of tort matters including: personal injury, occupiers' and product liability, professional negligence, malicious prosecution, property damage and libel and slander. One of the firm’s most knowledgeable practitioners in the areas of automobile and transportation issues, Russ also defends clients with respect to motor vehicle accident claims, road liability, the Transport industry, charter issues and police pursuits. Russ has also developed expertise in representing police and security agencies as well as provincial and municipal government jurisdictions. He does public liability defence work with a particular focus on police defence issues. Russ also represents U.S.-based clients with respect to their business interests in Canada, and in enforcing U.S. judgments in Canada. Over the years, Russ has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario including the Ontario Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has also been involved in countless mediations and other ADR hearings. Russ is called to the Bar in both Ontario and in the State of Texas.
