Lance Williams is a Partner in the firm’s Restructuring & Insolvency Group. He advises trustees, debtors, directors, and creditors on complex insolvency matters, including debt restructuring, corporate reorganizations, bankruptcies, and receiverships. Lance has acted in numerous precedent-setting cases under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, with particular experience in mining, cannabis, forestry, retail, real estate, technology, and agriculture. Internationally recognised for his expertise in cross-border insolvencies, Lance is a Fellow of INSOL International and a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and the International Insolvency Institute—both invitation-only organisations of leading insolvency professionals. He served as a delegate for the International Insolvency Institute at the UNCITRAL Working Group V meetings at the United Nations, contributing to global insolvency law reform. Lance also provides advice in commercial finance, advising borrowers, private lenders, financial institutions, mezzanine lenders and distressed lenders on distressed and debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing.
