Laurence Déry has extensive experience in labour and employment law. She represents private and public sector employers, both federal and provincial, and advises foreign companies on their obligations as employers in Quebec. She negotiates and drafts collective agreements and employment contracts, and she also handles workplace investigations, particularly in situations of psychological harassment. Employers rely on her expertise for all their employment-related needs, including union certification, transfer of rights and obligations between employers, labour standards, terminations, restrictive covenants, absenteeism, and the application and interpretation of collective agreements. A seasoned litigator, Laurence regularly appears before tribunals, arbitrators, labour boards, and common-law courts. She handles a variety of cases relating to human rights, privacy, and the Charter of the French Language. Laurence is also an instructor for the Certification in Ethics and Compliance program at Executive Education HEC Montréal. She regularly shares her expertise by providing training to employers and speaking at conferences.
