Lisa R. Lifshitz is a partner in Torkin Manes’ Corporate/Commercial Group and chair of its Technology and Privacy & Data Management Groups. She has considerable experience in preparing, negotiating and advising on technology procurements and agreements, including cloud computing/managed services contracts, fintech and AI contracts. She advises on privacy/cybersecurity, including trans-border data transfers, breach management and CASL compliance. On August 9, 2019, LGC Standards Canada Limited (“LGC”), a subsidiary of LGC Limited and a portfolio company of KKR & Co. Inc., acquired a majority stake in Toronto Research Chemicals Inc. (“TRC”) and Synfine Research Limited. Financial terms of the investment were not publicly disclosed.
On March 11, 2019, Azelis, a leading specialty chemical supplier operating globally, announced it had acquired Chemroy, a Canadian distributor of specialty chemicals and food ingredients. The transaction sees Azelis acquire 100% of Chemroy Canada Holdings Inc.
