Lori Duffy is a senior counsel at McCarthy Tétrault and leads the firm’s Private Wealth, Estates and Trusts practice, part of the National Tax Group. Based in Toronto, she assists clients with managing and transferring their assets through business succession plans, trusts and wills. With over three decades of experience, her practice encompasses all areas of trusts, wills and estate administration, including the Substitute Decisions Act. Lori is the Ontario editor of the Estate & Trust Reports (Carswell), member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), director of the Martin Family Initiative, member of the Advisory Task Force on Planned Giving for St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation, a past president of the Canadian Association of Women Executives and Entrepreneurs, and now working with Campfire Circle to develop its Planned Giving Advisory Committee. Lori previously taught the Wills and Estates law course at the University of Toronto Law School and has lectured in many seminars for the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, The Canadian Institute and the International Bar Association. Lori is a recipient of Lexpert Zenith Award: Celebrating Women Leaders in the Legal Profession.
