Luc Deshaies Ad. E. is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, practising employment and labour law. Luc has acted before all judicial and administrative tribunals interested in labour matters in Québec. He has advised employers whose main activities are based in Québec, but also in Canada and abroad, as part of M&A or transfer matters. He has extensive experience in matters related to “independent contractors” in the context of financial advisors, representing financial institutions with success in front of administrative boards and civil courts. Luc has also represented Indigenous communities in labour and employment matters in front of federal and provincial labour tribunals. He occasionally represents executives in the negotiation of employment or termination agreements. He is also admitted at Barreau de Paris and has been recognized in Chambers Canada, bothWho’s Who Legal: Global and Who’s Who Legal: Canada and The Best Lawyers in Canada. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and recognized as an Advocatus Emeritus by the Barreau du Québec. He was also appointed President of the Canadian National Committee of the International Association of Lawyers and is currently Vice-President of the International Senate of Bars and Law Societies.
